Obituary for Gerald L. Martin
Gerald L. Martin, 69, Gettysburg, PA died Monday, February 3, 2020 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
He was born October 5, 1950 in East Berlin, PA the son of the late James and Ruth Rinker Martin. Gerald is survived by his wife Tammy Lawver Martin.
Mr. Martin was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Vietnam War. He was a long haul truck driver for many years some of that time with ES Martin Trucking of Brushtown, PA. Through the years he had a perfect driving record. He also did work for Wyatt Excavation of New Oxford, PA. Gerald was a Hot Rod and Classic Car enthusiast.
In addition to his wife Gerald is survived by five children; George Miller and his wife Jenna of Abbottstown, PA, Wendy DeGroft and her husband Toby of Hanover, PA, Karen Martin of Hanover, PA, Shannon Nelson and her husband Fred of Hanover, PA, Vickie Parrish and her husband James of Taneytown, MD, three step-children; Tiffany Lawver of Gettysburg, PA, Derrick Lawver of Gettysburg, PA, Dylan Lawver of Gettysburg, PA, three brothers; Ed Martin of Hanover, PA, Alan Martin of Bonneauville, PA, Sheldon Martin of Fairfield, PA, a sister, JoAnn Orndorff of Montana, 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, 2 step great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Gerald at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Monahan Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.
