Obituary for Gerald R. Keller
Gerald R. Keller, McKnightstown, PA died Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at Golden Living Center in Gettysburg, PA.
He was born August 2, 1932 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late Glen and Marie Stover Keller. Mr. Keller’s wife Shirley Ann Keller died in 2013.
Mr. Keller was a graduate of Gettysburg High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict. In his early life he was employed for PennDOT as a backhoe operator. He then worked for C. E. Williams and later started his own company, Gerald Keller Excavation in McKnightstown. Jerry was a lifetime member of the Fairfield AmVets and the Cashtown Lions Club. He also was a former member of the Cashtown Fire Company. Several years ago he was awarded a commendation from the Governor of Pennsylvania in recognition of the fact that he had not missed voting in an election since he was 18 years old.
Mr. Keller is survived by a step-daughter, Wendy S. Chambers of Gettysburg, PA.
Graveside memorial service will be held Friday, March 4, 2016 at 11:00 AM in McKnightstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
