Obituary for Geraldine E. Deardorff
Geraldine E. Deardorff, 91, of Orrtanna, PA died Monday evening, July 24, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born December 5, 1925 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Paul and Hazel (Riggeal) Kimple. She was the wife of the late Ray Deardorff who died in 1976.
Mrs. Deardorff was a member of St. Ignatius Loyal Catholic Church, Buchanan Valley, PA. She worked for many years at the Gettysburg Hospital in the dietary department.
Geraldine is survived by her six children, Richard S. Deardorff, of Orrtanna, PA, Jeanne Weber, of Mechanicsburg, PA, Margaret Wyatt, of Capon Bridge, WV, James Deardorff, of Gettysburg, PA, Marie Trimmer, of Chambersburg, PA, Mary Eichelberger, of Harrisburg, PA, 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, one great great grandson, her brother, Robert Kimple, of Orrtanna, PA, and her two sisters, Margaret Hippensteel of Orrtanna, PA and Helen Sharrah, of Gettysburg, PA. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joanne Esham, her grandson, Joseph D. Deardorff, two brothers, James Kimple, Henry Kimple, and her sister, Mary Naugle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 from St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA with Rev. Dominic M. DiBiccaro celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery immediately following the Mass. There will be a viewing on Friday, from 1-2 p.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA, proceeding at 2:00 p.m. to St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church for the 2:30 Mass.
