Obituary for Glenn Francis Redding
Glenn Francis Redding, 73 of Ocala, FL passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 with his family by his side. Born January 7, 1944 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Lawrence & Lula (Keller) Redding. Glenn was a graduate of Delone Catholic High School. He enlisted in the United States Air Force upon graduation from high school and served his country in Libya and at Kincheloe AFB in Michigan. Glenn had many professions from masonry to owning and operating his own residential contracting business. It was through this business that Glenn found his real passion in life, building Woodie cars. He worked at Woodie World for many years before starting his own car building business. He was meticulous in his work and for those who are lucky enough to own one that he built, they have a master-piece. Glenn is survived by his best friend and partner, Nadine Arroyo, two daughters; Sylvia Mickanuik of Alberta, Canada and Sonja Redding of Memphis, TN, two granddaughters, Taylor and Kendra Mickanuik, three sisters; Rose Mary Bollinger of Gettysburg, PA, Susan Shue of Gettysburg and Cecelia Demes and husband Jim of Biglerville, PA, four brothers; Gary Redding and wife Esther of Gettysburg, Larry Redding and wife Janet of East Berlin, PA, Russell Redding and wife Nina of Gettysburg and Wayne Redding and wife Polly of New Holland, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Glenn was predeceased by three brothers; Thomas, Daniel and Bradley Redding. A Memorial Service to celebrate Glenn’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Trinity United Church of Christ, 60 East High Street, Gettysburg, PA with Rev. George Heberling, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at a reception in the church’s social room.
