
Obituary for Glenn O. Wagner
Glenn O. Wagner, 86, Hanover, PA passed away Thursday, December 23, 2021 at his home.
He was born April 27, 1935 in Westminster, MD the son of the late George V. and Carrie Ella Bankard Wagner. Glenn is survived by his wife, Kay Ellen Bowen Wagner.
Glenn was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1955 and served 2 ½ years in Bamberg, Germany in the 4th Infantry, of the 3rd Division. While he was there he also was a member of the Military Special Police. He continued his army career in the Army Reserves until 1963.
Following his service he was employed at Reisterstown Lumber Company, he then went to Joe Grimm Ford as car salesman for 21 years. He found another career as a Real Estate Appraiser at Bitzel & Associates as well as an Independent Appraiser for over 25 years. He loved his job appraising serving Carroll County and surrounding Maryland counties. As retirement became his next venture he went back to the wood trade making wood items and refurbishing old items to sell in the craft business that he and Kay shared, as Lucia & Glenn’s Gifts.
In addition to his wife Glenn, is survived by four children; William A. Wagner and his wife Deborah of Westminster, MD, Gregory K. Wagner and his wife Stacey of Westminster, MD, Scott E. Zimmerman and his girlfriend Sonya Young of Myrtle Beach, SC, Kimberly K. Hott and her husband Michael of Westminster, MD, six grandchildren; Nathan Wagner, Ian Wagner, Bailey Zimmerman, Allison Zimmerman, Madison Hott, Maxwell Hott, a brother, Raymond H. Wagner and his wife Pat of Westminster, MD, three sisters; Louise Dutterer of Westminster, MD, Emma Layton of Westminster, MD, Ella Manner of Westminster, MD. He was predeceased by his brother, Vernon Wagner.
Funeral services will be held Monday, January 3, 2022 at 11:00am at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Pastor Nicholas Dunn officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Sunday, January 2, 2022 from 3:00pm until 5:00pm and Monday, January 3, 2021 from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.
