Obituary for Grace Charmaine Goetz
On Saturday, June 22, 2019, Grace Charmaine Goetz, 87 of Fairfield, PA joined her two sons, Grant and Robbie, and grandson, Danny in heaven. She was greatly loved by her devoted husband of nearly seventy years, Gene Goetz, and their children: Eugene Jr. (Doris), Charmaine (Tom) Malik, Sue Ann (Michael) Colella, Kathleen (George) Paul, Mary Jo (Doug) Elam, Timothy (Evelyn), Allan, Stephen (Maryanne), Polly (Bob) Popp, Peggy (Billy) Patschak and Teri (Doug) Greenfield, as well as thirty six grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grant and Pauline Lemmon of Pittsburgh, PA and two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by a sister, Annette, and a brother, Gene Mike and many, many dear in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends. Charmaine was a beautiful woman and together with Gene, by God’s gracious provision, raised their thirteen children in the love of Jesus. She was active in her parish, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fairfield, PA, which she considered an extension of her family; it was very meaningful to her to be privileged to read God’s Word to others. She especially enjoyed singing in the choir, and is now praising her Savior with the angels. She will be greatly missed by those she has left behind, but we take comfort in the assurance that we will meet again where eternity begins. We are grateful to our friends at the VNA of Hanover and Spring Grove Hospice, who provided excellent care and loving service when we needed it; we would appreciate that any memorial gifts be given to them at 440 North Madison Street, Hanover, PA 17331. A Memorial Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Road Fairfield, with Fr. Peter DiTomasso, Celebrant. A private interment will take place at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD. The family will greeted friends at a reception following the Mass in the church’s social room. Online tributes and condolences can be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
