Obituary for H. Louise Carson
H. Louise Carson, 81 of Gettysburg, PA died at home on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Born December 31, 1934 in Lebanon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ray Darr and Helen (Bittinger) Carbaugh.
Louise was a member of the Gettysburg Church of The Brethren. She had worked as a nurse at Cross Keys Village - The Brethren Home Community for 17 years prior to her retirement in 1996 and previously had been employed by the former G.C. Murphy store in Gettysburg for many years.
Louise leaves behind her husband, Ira L. “Abe” Carson, Sr., son, Len Carson of Lancaster, PA, daughter, Laurie Whitver and her husband Gary of Gettysburg, four grandchildren: Jess Wellborn, Billy Wellborn, Rob Whitver, and Samantha Hill, seven great grandchildren and her sister, Donna Wilson and her husband Herb of Texas.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Louise’s life will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at the Gettysburg Church of The Brethren, 1710 Biglerville Road, Gettysburg with Revs. Richard Godfrey and Pat Arendt, officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00-2:30 p.m. on Sunday. Flowers are welcome and will be distributed to local nursing centers.
