
Obituary for Harriet A. Cameron
Harriet A. Cameron, 76, 942 Old Route 30, Cashtown, PA died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Gettysburg Center. Harriet will join her beloved husband of 49 years Harvey, who went to his Heavenly home on June 19, 2009.
She was born July 8, 1940 in Lilly, PA the daughter of the late Walter and Mary Pauley Appleyard.
Harriet was a very active member of Flohr’s Lutheran Church where she served on the Worship & Music Committee, former Sunday school teacher, Bible Study teacher and sang in the choir. She was employed by the Gettysburg Area School District as a Building Secretary for the Franklin Township Elementary School for 33 years. Harriett also wrote and published 7 children’s books. She was a devoted wife and mother.
Mrs. Cameron is survived by a son Michael G. Cameron and his wife Karen of Shippensburg, PA, three grandchildren, Riley Cameron, Lewis Cameron, Michaela Cameron, two sisters; Jane Bernard of Lemoyne, PA, Wilma Haluska of Altoona, PA and a brother, Wesley Appleyard of Altoona, PA. She was predeceased by a daughter, Annette Marie Cameron.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Flohr’s Lutheran Church, Cashtown, PA. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made Flohr’s Prayer Garden, c/o Flohr’s Lutheran Church, PO Box 32, McKnightstown, PA 17343.
