Obituary for Harry E. Lipscomb
Harry E. Lipscomb, 76 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019 in Norfolk, Virginia.
Born December 12, 1942 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late James Robert & Kathleen (Gilbert) Lipscomb. Harry was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Ann (Jones) Lipscomb, who died in 2010.
He was a member of St. Paul’s A.M.E. Zion Church in Gettysburg. Harry worked for the Harley-Davidson Corp. in their York, PA manufacturing factory for over 35 years retiring in 2005.He enjoyed playing cards, bowling, cheering for his beloved Philadelphia Eagles and most of all, spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
Survivors include his three children; Barry Lipscomb and wife Angelique of Orlando, FL, Diana Parker and husband James of Norfolk, VA and David Lipscomb of Brooklyn, NY, four grandchildren; Ryan Brown, Jerrid Lipscomb, Ashley Monn and Nicole Vaughan, three sisters; Edna Ramey of Petersville, MD, Charlotte Johnson and husband Ernest and Diane Lipscomb both of Washington, DC and a number of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers; James and Charles Lipscomb and three sisters; Janet Lipscomb, Hilda Scott and Margaret Barnes.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York St. Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Michael Allwein, officiating. Interment will follow the services in the Evergreen Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Saturday at the church from 9:00-11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorials to St. Paul’s A.M.E. Zion Church, 269 S. Washington St. Gettysburg, PA l7325.
