Obituary for Helen Virginia Jacobs
Helen Virginia Jacobs, 88 formerly of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018 at Homewood at Plum Creek in Hanover, PA. Born April 9, 1930 in Hayfield, Virginia, she was the daughter of the late Wesley & Goldie (Clark) Heflin. Helen was predeceased by husband, William I. Jacobs, who died in 2013. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, Fairfield AmVets and the Gettysburg Eagles. Helen had been employed by the former Silk Mill in Gettysburg, Jiffy Packaging in Gettysburg, Sealed Air Corp. in Hanover, Mary Jane Roller Rink in Hanover and the Gettysburg Wal-Mart as a greeter. Helen is survived by her two children: Wanda K. Wagaman and husband Bob of Abbottstown, PA and Dean W. Jacobs and wife Ann of Fayetteville, PA, four grandchildren; Ashley, Jordon, Alyssa and Katelyn, two step-grandchildren; Kim and Robbie, great grandson, Landon, five step-great grandchildren; McKayla, Madison, Kara, Kaitlyn and Blake, three sisters; Peggy, Betty and Nancy, four brothers; John, Jr., Robert, Richard and Glenn. She was predeceased by four siblings; Larry, William, Catherine and Vernon. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with Rev. Michael Allwein, officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials to: Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 North Progress Avenue, Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
