Obituary for Helena Louise Hoffman
Helena Louise (Cunningham) Hoffman, 86, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Ayers Health and Rehabilitation Center, Trenton, Florida.
Born April 19, 1931 in Gettysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Madeline Cunningham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel David Hoffman and two brothers, Patrick and Michael Cunningham.
Helena’s husband, “Danny” served in the military and they lived at one time in New York State, Arizona and settled in Homestead, Florida where they worked and raised a family. Helena lived and worked in Homestead, FL until after Hurricane Andrew in August, 1992. She relocated back to Gettysburg, PA and lived there until returning to Florida in 2014 to live with one of her four sons.
While she lived in Gettysburg, PA she was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Helena loved the company of her family and friends. She especially enjoyed her regular card parties and bingo games.
She is survived by four sons, Timothy Hoffman of High Springs, FL, and his daughter and Helena’s granddaughter, Carrie Lynn Tam, Joseph Hoffman of Homestead, Florida, Neil Hoffman of Goulds, FL, and Michael Hoffman and his wife, Linda of Missouri City, Texas; two sisters, Doris Hankey of Augusta, WV and Marjorie Reedy of Gettysburg, PA and one brother Richard Cunningham and his wife Delores of Gettysburg, PA and 9 nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018. The family will receive friends at 9:00 am at the Monahan Funeral Home and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church on High Street in Gettysburg.
