Obituary for Ilene M. Cassatt
Ilene M. Cassatt, 73, of Orrtanna, PA died Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 1, 1943 in Waynesboro, PA she was the daughter of the late Francis and Helen (Smith) Punt. She was the wife of the late Merle M. Cassatt, Sr., who died December 26, 1992.
Mrs. Cassatt worked at various places including Gettysburg Shoe Factory, Dainty May Shoe Factory, Fairfield Shoe Factory, and DalTile. She was a member of the Gettysburg Eagles and the Fairfield Amvets.
Ilene is survived by her son, Merle “Mike” Cassatt, Jr., of Orrtanna, PA, two grandchildren, Joseph Cassatt, of Heidlersburg, PA, Sandra Miller, of Orrtanna, PA, five great grandchildren, Troy Mosher, Anthony Cassatt, Calvin Longo, Malachi Longo, Jacob Cassatt, and one sister, Mary Grace Stouter, of Emmitsburg, MD. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Ann Punt and Carolyn Heiston.
A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 3, 2016 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg with Rev. Kim Phillips officiating, the family requests casual attire. The Monahan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements and online condolences may be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
