Janet D. Woodward, 85, Baltimore Street, Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at SpiriTrust Retirement Home in Gettysburg, PA.
She was born July 3, 1931 in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of the late Ellsworth M. and Blanche Hess Woodward.
Janet was a member of St. James Lutheran Church where she sang in the choir and for years volunteered in the church office. For most of her career she was employed for United Telephone Company at the Gettysburg office. She was a 1949 graduate and was very involved in the class committee to get the “49ers” together. In her later years, Janet volunteered as an auxiliary member at Green Acres Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at SpiriTrust Home, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road at 11:00 AM with Rev. Michael Allwein officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends at SpiriTrust on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
