
Obituary for Jean W. Sullivan
Jean W. Sullivan, 91, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA died suddenly Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the SpiriTrust Gettysburg.
She was born January 8, 1927 in Mahaska, Kansas the daughter of the late Rex and Mabel Dart Wells. Her husband Bernard P. Sullivan died in 2009.
Mrs. Sullivan was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg, PA. Early in her life she was an account clerk and bookkeeper for the State of Nebraska. In 1994 she moved to Gettysburg and became involved with volunteer work at the Mission of Mercy and Meals-on-Wheels. Jean was an avid card player and reader.
Jean is survived by three children; Michael T. Sullivan and his wife Gianna of Carroll Valley, PA, Maureen B. Liddle and her husband David of Gettysburg, PA, Janet M. Sullivan of Lancaster, PA, seven grandchildren; Matthew Liddle and his wife Jill, Thomas Liddle and his wife Emily, Rebecca Weaver and her husband Ryan, Chelsea Randolph and her husband John, Anne Marie Sullivan, Kaitlin Griffie and her husband Cody, Sam Dockter, eight great grandchildren and her step-sister, Peggy Carlson, of Fairbury, NE. She was predeceased by a brother, Max Wells.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, April 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM from St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, High Street, Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Daniel Mitzel celebrant. There will be a Rosary at the church on Monday at 9:30 AM. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Emmitsburg, MD. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Mission of Mercy, 103 West Middle Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
