Obituary for John M. Brown
John M. Brown, 76 of Gettysburg, PA died Thursday afternoon September 28, 2017 at the Gilchrist Center in Towson, MD.
Born October 26, 1940 in Baltimore MD he was the son of the late John Edward and Virgie Alverta (Ward) Brown. He was the husband of Suqin Li.
John worked as a private computer contractor for the Department of Defense for many years. He was a lifetime mariner, growing up on bay steamboats (his father was a captain) to private steamboat ownership until his death. He was also an aviator and used his personal airplanes for business and travel. Although John was born in the city, he has always been a hobby farmer, of sorts, on the side since he was around 25 years of age.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his three children, M. Kevin Brown, of Summerfield, FL, Elizabeth Anne Brown, of Baltimore, MD, and Daniel A. Brown, of Gettysburg, PA.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg.
