Obituary for Kenneth E. McDannell
Kenneth E. McDannell, 69 of Gettysburg, PA died Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the York Hospital. He was born October 03, 1946 in Gettysburg, PA and was the son of the late Kathleen B. McDannell. Ken had been employed by the PennDOT Highway Department in Adams County for 37 years retiring in 2005. He was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Orrtanna, PA, Buchanan Valley Rod and Gun Club and did volunteer work with the Cashtown Fire Co. Ken is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan A. (Black) McDannell, a daughter, Diana S. Slothour of Arendtsville, PA, two sons; Tim McDannell of Biglerville, PA and Matt McDannell of Arendtsville, four grandchildren; Thaine and Kaley McDannell, Faith Norris and Cody Slothour, and his sister, Doris Weaver of Gettysburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 19, 2016 at St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, 1095 Church Road, Orrtanna, PA. Burial will be in St. Ignatius Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 18, from 6-8 PM at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg and on Friday at the church from 10-11 AM.
