Obituary for Kenneth "Kenny" Kuykendall
Kenneth “Kenny” Kuykendall, 84 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Transitions Healthcare in Gettysburg.
Born May 1, 1934 in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late William & Winifred Kuykendall. Kenny was predeceased by his wife, Shirley A. (Fridinger) Kuykendall, who died in 2015.
He had been employed by the former DMI furniture factory in Gettysburg for 45 years and later spent 15 years working for the Avenue Diner in Gettysburg. Kenny was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, Gettysburg Fire Department, Gettysburg Eagles #1562 and was a life member of the Gettysburg Moose.
He is survived by a brother, Bud Kuykendall of Greencastle, PA, two sisters; Louise Bowers of Chambersburg, PA and Edna Beard of South Mountain, PA and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Monday, July 16, 2018 at St. James Lutheran Church, 109 York St., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Andrew Geib, officiating. Interment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg. A Viewing will be held at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. and on Monday, at the church from 11:00-12 noon. Memorials can be made to the Gettysburg Fire Department, 35 N. Stratton St. Gettysburg, PA 17325.
