Obituary for Lawrence E. "Larry" Baker
Lawrence E. “Larry” Baker, 80, of Gettysburg, PA died peacefully Tuesday evening, March 13, 2018 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, PA.
Born February 10, 1938 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Donald and Madeline (Brennan) Baker. He was the husband of the late Shirley (Plaine) Baker who died January 26, 2001.
Mr. Baker was a Veteran of the United States Army serving from 1958-1960. He worked for the Department of Defense as a tank inspector with B.A.E. in York. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling, and years ago was active in the Amvets.
Larry is survived by his three children, Lisa G. Wallace and her husband Pete, of Georgia, Eric W. Baker and his companion, Sharon Billman, of Gardners, PA, Gary T. Baker and his wife Michelle, of Bonneauville, PA, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters, Anna Mae Myers, Martha Wiley, Linda Lou Altice, and one brother, Samuel Baker. He was preceded in death by his son, Mark Baker, and three brothers, Tommy Baker, Robert Baker, and Wayne Baker.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA. Burial with full military honors being presented by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg, PA.
