Obituary for LeRoy M. Wetzel
LeRoy M. Wetzel, 91, formerly of Fayetteville, PA died Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2017 at his son’s home in Hanover, PA.
Born January 20, 1926 in Orrtanna, PA he was the son of the late Wilbur and Grace (Weikert) Wetzel. He was the husband of the late Kathryn Wetzel and of Anna Mae (Downing) Wetzel of Fayetteville, PA.
Mr. Wetzel was a member of Orrtanna United Methodiast Church. He worked as an auto mechanic first at Zentz Chevrolet in Fairfield then for Tate Chevrolet in Gettysburg.
LeRoy is survived by his two children, LeRoy Wetzel, Jr., of Hanover, PA, Jeannette Plank, of Gettysburg, PA, six grandchildren, Shawn Wetzel, Troy Hollabaugh, Terri Kittinger, Lory Troxell, Timothy Plank, Michael Plank, eight great grandchildren, Brianna Kittinger, Camden Kitttinger, Olivia Wetzel, Autumn Wetzel, Carson Hollabaugh, Cameron Hollabaugh, Carter Hollabaugh, Jennifer Heist, and one sister, Irene Stansbury, of Fayetteville, PA. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Wetzel, and a sister, Beatrice Baker.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Kim Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens, Gettysburg. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Tuesday morning at the funeral home.
