Obituary for Lynne McLaurin Jackson
Lynne passed away peacefully on December 21, 2019, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 24, 1950 in Washington, D.C., daughter to the late Dorothy Ann Hastings & Schuyler Wolcott Jackson. The family moved to Chevy Chase & Bethesda, MD where Lynne attended school, graduating from Walt Whitman High School.

In 1985, Lynne met her husband, Michael, spending an amazing 35 years together. They were the love of each other’s lives and shared many wonderful times together. With Lynne, there was never a dull moment.

Lynne loved being at the ocean, sitting on the beach, watching the waves, enjoying sand crabs scurrying and the ponies of Assateague Island. The ocean was her happy place, where she felt relaxed & at peace, not a care in the world.

From an early age, she loved & embraced her Catholic faith; it was a huge part of her identity, as was her Irish heritage. Lynne had a special devotion to Jesus’s Divine Mercy & the Blessed Mother - being of great support and comfort to her this last year. With the good and the bad in life, Lynne’s faith was balanced by her love of traditional Irish music & dancing. She danced to the end with love!

Some of Lynne’s favorite times were just being home, sitting in the sunshine on her deck, or enjoying a glass of wine by the fire with her dearest, Michael.

Lynne is survived by her beloved husband, Michael Eifert; her daughters Terra Kalinock, Devin Schuyler, & Meghan Seymour; grandchildren Aidan, Brendan & Angelica; and her sisters, Barbara Webster & Maureen Jackson.

Lynne was a wonderfully kind & unique individual with a pure heart, she was Sunshine. Her beautiful smile and sweet voice warmed the hearts of those who knew her. She will be missed dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 26, 2019 at 2pm ~ St. Peter’s Catholic Church, 16 E High St, Hancock, MD. Internment will follow immediately in the church cemetery, followed by a reception to celebrate Lynne Jackson’s life. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Doctors Without Borders or The American Cancer Society.
