Mary “Teresa” (Redding) Speelman, 88, of Gettysburg, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024, at the Cross Keys Brethren Home in New Oxford.
Born May 12, 1935, in Gettysburg, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Margaurite (Storm) Redding. M. Teresa is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Speelman, who died in 2002.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. M. Teresa also loved playing cards with her group of friends and family. She was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg.
M. Teresa is survived by her son, Gregory A. Speelman (Debra); her grandsons, Alan Speelman, Kevin Speelman, and Joseph Speelman; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Stanley, she is predeceased by her son, Dean R. Speelman; grandson, Brian Speelman, five brothers, Ken, Louis, Cletus, Leroy, and Leo Redding; and ten sisters, Caroline Breighner, Dorothy Eiker, Helena Miller, Annabelle McCleaf, Mary Catherine Redding, Teresa Lindora Redding, Genevieve M. Reever, Josephine Miller, Florence Crushong and Anna Marie Keller.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM, Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, High Street, Gettysburg, with Fr. Aaron Lynch as celebrant. Interment will immediately follow the Mass in St. Francis Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 5PM to 7PM on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 465 Table Rock Road, Gettysburg, PA 17325 and Cross Keys Brethren Village, 2990 Carlisle Pike, New Oxford, PA 17350.
