
Obituary for Marilyn H. Regentin
Marilyn H. Regentin, 78, Hunter’s Trail, Gettysburg, PA died Sunday, February 18, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1939 in Florence, S.C. the daughter of the late Clayton C. Hatchell and Ruby Lee Brown. Mrs. Regentin is survived by her husband, Jack H. Regentin, a daughter, Suzanne Regentin of Atlanta, GA, two sons; John Regentin and his wife Kathleen of Gettysburg, PA, Matthew Regentin and his wife Jill of Pittsburgh, PA, four grandchildren; Jack Regentin, Audrey Regentin, Emmett Regentin, Owen Regentin, and a sister, Jeanette Hatcher of Charlestown, S.C.
Marilyn was a very active member of the Old Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, VA before moving to Gettysburg, PA. She was a graduate of King College in Bristol, TN and for a time pursued a career as a high school English and History teacher in Prince George’s County, MD School District. Marilyn met her future husband at church and soon left behind her teaching to become a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed poetry, reading, and writing, inspired by the beauty of the written word. But most of all she loved time spent with her children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg at 2:00 PM with Rev. Lou Nyiri officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg, PA. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service.
