Obituary for Mary L. (Sanders) McDannell
Mary L. (Sanders) McDannell, 81, of formerly of McSherrystown, PA died Wednesday afternoon, October 4, 2017 at the Brethren Home Community, New Oxford, PA.
Born August 16, 1936 in Adams County she was the daughter of the late Cletus Guy and Sarah L. (Bowling) Sanders. She was the wife of the late Howard J. McDannell who died in 1998.
Mrs. McDannell was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fairfield. She worked as a cook at Gettysburg College for a number of years. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary at both the Gettysburg Eagles and the Gettysburg Moose.
Mary is survived by her son, Nicholas G. Ostrowski and his wife Pam, of Hanover, PA, four grandchildren, Erin (David) Honeycutt, Zachariah (Melissa) Ostrowski, Brooke (Melvin) Baker, Adrienne (Robert) Benson, and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 AM, Monday, October 9, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Rd., with Rev. Fr. Peter DiTomasso Celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the start of Mass, Monday morning at the church.
