Obituary for Mazie A. Murdorf
Mazie A. Murdorf, 94 of Fairfield, PA passed away peaceful on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at the home of her daughter.
Born in Gettysburg, PA on November 4, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles & Della (Dick) Carson. Mazie was predeceased by her husband, Charles L. Murdorf, Jr. who died in 1999.
She was a member of Jacobs Church in Fountaindale. Mazie was truly loved by her entire family and enjoyed her life and the time spent with her family. She was an excellent quilt maker, enjoyed picking out black walnuts and when she was younger spent many years raising many different animals on their small family farm.
Mazie is survived by her children; Pat A. Strayer of Fairfield, Charles L. “Buzz” Murdorf, III of Fairfield, Gertie L. McDannell of Orrtanna, PA, Connie Moquin of Waynesboro, PA, Penny Keilholtz of Fairfield and John T. Murdorf of Fairfield, 14 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren, a brother, Ira Carson of Gettysburg and a sister, Florence Royer of Accident, MD. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Howard Sites and 14 brothers and sisters.
A private funeral service will be held on Friday, March 17, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 27 East Main St., Fairfield, PA with her Pastor, Rev. Richard Daughtridge, officiating. Burial will be in the Fountaindale Union Cemetery, Fairfield, PA.
