
Obituary for Melvin H. "Mel" Shull
Local artist, Melvin H. “Mel” Shull, 58 of Biglerville, PA passed away on Monday, March 19, 2018 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.
Born March 22, 1959 in Gettysburg, he was the son of the late Melvin P. Shull and Shirley (Shafer) Baker.
Mel was a graduate of Temple University. He was a renowned artist in the Adams County Area and had been active with the Adams County Arts Council before his illness. Mel had worked for many years with the Ball Insurance Agency in Gettysburg and later for PNC Bank. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Episcopal Church.
Mel is survived by his spouse of 33 years, Lee Baer, two sisters; Hope Baker of Chambersburg, PA and Brenda Shull-Pollard of Arendtsville, PA, two brothers; Dan Shull and wife Anita and David Shull and wife Lisa, both of Gettysburg, and eight nieces and nephews; Gary Steinour, Manda Eger, Bobby Riley, Jesse Shull, Heather Shull, Branden Groft, Hanna Shull and Lucas Shull. He was predeceased by a nephew, Andrew Shull.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg with The Rev. Dr. Herbert Sprouse, officiating. A viewing will be held on Monday at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Interment will be private.
