Obituary for Michael L. Redding
Michael L. “Mike” Redding, 68 of Biglerville, PA peacefully passed away at his home on Monday, June 4, 2018 with his beloved family by his side.
Born October 14, 1949 in Hanover, PA, he was the son of the late LeRoy A. & Mary E. (Reynolds) Redding. Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia “Pat” (Martin) Redding.
Mike was a 1967 graduate of Gettysburg High School. He was employed for 14 years with the former Glenn L. Bream and Knox Cadillac- Oldsmobile Car dealership in Gettysburg, he then went to work for a local municipal authority as their supervisor for 29 years. Mike is a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Gettysburg, PA. He enjoyed working on and restoring various classic Oldsmobile cars and was a member of the Oldsmobile Club of America and the local Blue & Gray Chapter.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; Craig A. Redding and wife Tessa of Littlestown, PA, Jeffry M. Redding and wife Danielle Mikesell-Redding of Fairfield, PA and Ronald J. Redding and wife Emily of Chambersburg, PA, seven grandchildren; Marissa, Colby, Alaina, Brooklyn, Evelyn, Bristol and Anderson and a sister, Cecelia Hook of Scottsdale, AZ. Mike was predeceased by a sister, Anna Mary Baughman. The Redding family would like to sincerely thank all of the doctors, nurses and personnel who helped Mike with his battle with cancer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 45 West High St. Gettysburg, PA with Fr. John Kuchinski, Celebrant. Interment will follow the mass in St. Ignatius Cemetery, Orrtanna, PA. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg.
