Obituary for Nadine M. Kroft
Nadine M. Kroft, 92, East Berlin, PA died Friday, December 1, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
She was born June 22, 1925 in New Oxford, PA the daughter of the late Charles E. and Mary Smith Hensel. Nadine’s husband, William L. Kroft, Sr. died in 1990.
Nadine has been a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbottstown, PA for the last 60 years. For 15 years she worked at the East Berlin Pharmacy until her retirement. She was a member of the Legion of Mary at her church and the Farm Women’s Association. She enjoyed reading and embroidering. But most of all she loved spending time with her family.
Nadine is survived by her children; Joyce Menges of Abbottstown, PA, Barbara Wantz of East Berlin, PA, William L. Kroft, Jr. and his companion Deb of York, PA, Robert Kroft and his wife Ann of Abbottstown, PA, Charles Kroft and his wife Christine of Wellsville, PA, Mary Smith and her husband Brian of Orrtanna, PA, ten grandchildren; Christine Mentzer, Raymond Menges, Jr., Thomas Menges, Mark Wantz, Keri Hersh, Anthony Kroft, Rebecca Kroft, Charles Kroft, Jr., Amanda Kroft, Tyler Grimm, seven great grandchildren; Brittany, Alexis, Lyndsay, Ryan, Bryce, Liam, Brandi and a great great grandchild, Andrew. Nadine was predeceased by son-in-laws; Raymond Menges, Jr., Elmer Wantz, a daughter-in-law, Karen Kroft, a brother, Charles Hensel, and a granddaughter, Melissa Kroft.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, December 6, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Abbottstown, PA with Fr. Timothy Marcoe celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery. There will be a viewing at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the Mass.
