Obituary for Nancy Jane Ketterman
Nancy Jane Ketterman, 81, 1075 Old Harrisburg Road, Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at SpiriTrust.
She was born November 16, 1934 in Gettysburg, PA the daughter of the late Carl Frederick and Clara “Sis” Haines Ketterman.
Nancy was a longtime member of St. James Lutheran Church. She graduated from Gettysburg High School, Class of 1953. For 35 years Nancy, was employed at the Avenue Diner (1958-1993). She was one of the original employees when the Diner was opened in 1958. Nancy became part of the Pennsylvania’s Empowered Expert Residents “PEER” Program at the Lutheran Home in 2013, sponsored by the State Department of Aging. PEER are residents who are trained to self-advocate and empower their fellow residents to empower their quality of life and quality of care in long-term care facilities. PEER is a partnership between residents, facility staff and local ombudsman.
Nancy is survived by a son, Richard Lee Ketterman and his wife Debra Ann of Gettysburg, PA, a granddaughter, Kelly Michelle Ketterman, step-grandchildren; Molly E. Green and her husband, Kevin Green, Jonathan C. Andrews and great grandchildren; Catherine Green and Emily Green.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Michael Allwein officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Monday evening April 4th from 6:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
