Obituary for Paul K. Claus
Paul K. Claus, 91, of Arendtsville, PA died Wednesday evening, September 28, 2016 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.
Born March 15, 1925 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Otto and Henrietta (Grandy) Claus. He was the husband of the late Margaret R. (Besterbelt) Claus who died in 2004.
Mr. Claus was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Arendtsville. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II landing on Omaha Beach on D-Day. Following the war Paul worked for Friese Equipment Company later known as Belforte Equipment. He was a member of Gettysburg Habitat for Humanity, the Arendtsville Municipal Authority and the Arendtsville Lions Club, he was also a volunteer for Meal-on-Wheels.
Paul is survived by his three children, Sally Focht and her husband Lawrence, of Arendtsville, PA, Wayne Claus and his wife Rosalyn, of Burtonsville, MD, Linda Henry and her husband Richard, of Anchorage, AK, four grandchildren, Jennifer Claus, Audra Slone, Matthew Henry, Timothy Henry, five great grandchildren, Alexandra Slone, Mikia Slone, Teawna Slone, Noah Henry, Elliott Henry, one great great grandchild, Jaxx Huggins, and one sister, Janet Daniluski, of Gainesville, FL. She was preceded in death by siblings, Hilda Vogel, Otto Claus, Doris Parcell and Carl Claus.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Zion United Church of Christ, 22 Gettysburg St., Arendtsville, PA with Rev. Dr. Kim Blocher officiating. Private interment will be in the Greenmounrt Cemetery, Arendtsville. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday morning at the church.
