Obituary for Pedro Garcia
It is with great sadness that the family of Pedro Garcia announces his passing after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the age of 85 years in his home in York Springs, PA.
He went to meet his Lord and Savior peacefully at home surrounded by his family and close family friend.
His funeral service will be held this Tuesday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 25 W High Street, Gettysburg, PA, beginning with a viewing at 9 a.m. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. Immediately followed by internment at St. Francis Catholic Cemetery.
Pedro was born on August 30, 1932, in Puerto Rico to Feliciano and Lorenza. He was a devoted family man and provider. The majority of his life he was a hardworking fruit farmer in Adams County. Pedro enjoyed driving his 1974 Lincoln and riding his 4 wheeler through the fields and neighboring farms picking apples and peaches. More than anything, he devoted every day of his life to being the best father and husband he could be.
Pedro will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Monserrate and his children Juan Felipe, Cecilio, Angel Luis, Maria, and Victor. Pedro will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Raul, Christian, Kenny, Terrell, Marissa and Rosalita and his great grandchildren Briceton, Dastan and Valentina.
