Obituary for Regina Hill Orndorff
Regina Hill Orndorff, 86 of McKnightstown, PA passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her home.
Born January 9, 1930 in Dayton, Howard County, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late William Harvey & Elva D. (Iglehart) Hill. Regina was predeceased by her husband, Larry B. Orndorff, Sr. who died in 1990.
She was employed for thirty years with the Carroll County Department of Education as a Physical Education Teacher. Regina was a member of the Peace Light Church in McKnightstown, where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was a volunteer for SpiriTrust Lutheran for many years and was a diehard Baltimore Orioles Fan.
Survivors include her five children; Phyllis Summers and husband Donnie of Campobello, SC, Merry Gay Legg and husband Ron of Biglerville, PA L. Blane Orndorff, Jr. and wife Linda of Orrtanna, PA, Bradley Orndorff and wife Sue of Biglerville, and Molly Smith and husband Melvin of Aspers, PA, fourteen grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, several step-grandchildren, two brothers; Norman Hill of Woodbine, MD and James Hill of Taneytown, MD and a sister, Mary Kay Eyre of Clarksville, MD. Regina was predeceased by a son, Richard Orndorff, grandson, Erik Steven Legg, a sister, Helena Outlaw and two brothers; Allen Hill and William Harvey “Buddy” Hill, Jr. Mrs. Orndorff loved her church, but due to her large family and many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the First Baptist Church, 1015 Chambersburg Road, Gettysburg, PA with Rev. James Strite, officiating. Burial will be in Flohrs Cemetery, McKnightstown. A viewing will be held on Friday, December 16 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 10-11 a.m. The family suggests memorials to SpiriTrust Lutheran Hospice and Home Care, 260 West High Street, Gettysburg, PA 17325 or Peace Light Church, P.
