Obituary for Rhonda Lynn Boga
Rhonda Lynn Boga of Gettysburg, PA died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 after a long well fought fight against advanced breast cancer.
She was born October 23, 1961 in Harrisburg, PA the daughter of the late Carl and Rita Sharretts. Rhonda is survived by her husband, William Boga III, originally of Scranton, PA.
Mrs. Boga was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School in Harrisburg, PA. She was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church and Christ the Savior Orthodox Church both of Harrisburg, PA. She was employed as secretary to the president of the former Dauphin Deposit Bank on Derry Street, Harrisburg, PA. She choose to leave the workforce and become a full time stay at home mom with the birth of her first son. Later in life she studied to become a court stenographer; however, left to help aid in caring for an ailing grandmother, the late Anna Gummo Decker.
She leaves behind three sons and two grandchildren; William Boga IV and his wife Melissa of Harrisburg, PA, Alan Boga of York, PA, Gregory Boga and his fiancé Sierra Dell of York, PA, grandsons, William Boga V and Ben Boga both of Harrisburg, PA. She also leaves behind a sister.
She had a great respect for all life and especially enjoyed horseback riding and caring for her four horses, Hummer, Tank, Cooper and Dozer. She was a long time member of the Republican National Committee, Arbor Day Foundation, Susan G. Komen Foundation and contributed to many charitable organizations that respect life or sought to find cures for diseases or those that helped people in need.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11:00 AM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. There will be a viewing at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. It is unfortunate that advanced breast cancer treatments are very expensive; therefore, in lieu of flowers, please made donations to the Susan G.
