Obituary for Richard L. Fitz, Jr.
Richard L. Fitz, Jr., 76, 1125 Jack’s Mountain Road, Fairfield, PA died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at the York Hospital.
He was born April 20, 1941 in Gettysburg, PA the son of the late Richard L. and Hazel Sharrah Fitz. Richard is survived by his wife, Martha Moore Fitz, two sons; Ken Fitz and his wife Kimberly of Fairfield, PA, Scott Fitz of Fairfield, PA, a granddaughter, Lida Fitz, two step grandchildren; Josh Krietz and his wife Amy and their children, Madison and Sid, Brandy Keller and her husband Tony and their children, Wyatt and Grace, a sister, Ann Sanders of Waynesboro, PA. He was predeceased by a sister, Jill Valentine and a brother, Tom Fitz.
Mr. Fitz was a self-employed carpenter in the Fairfield area for many years. He was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fairfield. He enjoyed the outdoors, working in his garden, hunting and fishing. He also was an avid reader. But most of all he loved to spend time with his family.
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, March 4, 2018 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairfield, PA at 1:30 PM with Rev. Beverly Donnella officiating. Interment will be private at a later date. The family will receive friends following the service in the church community room. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to St. John Lutheran Church, 13 East Main Street, Fairfield, PA 17320.
