Obituary for Richard "Rick" Smyers
Richard Brock Smyers “Rick” passed away recently at his residence in Conewago Township, Hanover, PA.
Born December 28, 1962 he was the son of F. Brock and E. Diane (Corbin) Smyers, of McConnellstown, PA.
Rick grew up in McConnellstown, PA where he was a member of McConnellstown United Methodist Church. He graduated from Huntingdon Area High School in 1980. After graduation he obtained his associate’s degree from Central Penn Business School. He then moved to Hanover where he had been employed by Snyder’s of Hanover for the last 25 years. He enjoyed watching football especially Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In addition to his parents, Rick is survived by his brother, Steve Smyers and his wife Michelle, of Gettysburg and their children, Bryce, Derek, Emily, Allison, and David, and by his sister, Terri Black and her husband Wayne, of Harrisburg, as well as numerous aunt, uncles, and cousins. Rick will be missed by all those who loved him.
