Obituary for Ronald F. Legg
Ronald F. Legg, age 79 of Biglerville, PA passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2018 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 25, 1938, he was the son of the late, Albert M. & Margaret Legg. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Merry Gay (Orndorff) Legg.
Ron was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the United States Air Force. He was employed by The United States Defense Department at Fort Meade, Maryland for 25 years. Ron enjoyed his second career working as a driver for the Gettysburg College Transportation Department for many years. He was a former member of the Gettysburg Eagles #1562, enjoyed watching his beloved Baltimore Orioles, playing trivia and golfing with his friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children; Sharon Weaver and husband Peter of Aspers, PA, Kevin Legg of Arendtsville, PA and Mandi Riley of Gettysburg, PA, his sister, Arline Folderauer of Sykesville, MD, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Erik S. Legg, sister, Carol Nappa and a brother, Jerry Legg.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, with Rev. James Strite, officiating. Interment with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will take place in Flohrs Cemetery, McKnightstown, PA. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
