Obituary for Roy L. Dinges
Roy L. Dinges, 66, Gettysburg, PA died Friday, June 15, 2018 at his son’s home in Aspers, PA.
He was born August 25, 1951 in Dillsburg, PA the son of the late Glenn and Ellen Swope.
Roy is survived by his sons; Roy, Tony and Shane Dinges of Pennsylvania, a daughter, Rebecca of Florida, three grandchildren; Pyper Dinges of Pennsylvania, Jace Connelly and Milo Connelly of Florida, two sisters; Mary Martin of Gettysburg, PA, Naoma Cummings of Gettysburg, PA, two brothers; Ronnie Dinges and his wife Sharon of Gettysburg, PA, Gary Dinges and his wife Barbara of Bonneauville, PA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his companion, Rhonda Wagner, and a brother, Chester “Sonny” Dinges.
Roy worked at Sylvania Shoe Company in McSherrystown, PA and was a self-employed owner operator truck driver and then worked for Henry Taylor Trucking for over 30 years. He enjoyed singing, playing his guitars, Karaoke, playing Yahtzee, working on his vehicles, spending time with family and friends and being with his granddaughter.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 1:00 PM from Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from Noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
