Obituary for Shirely A. Miller
Shirley A. Miller, 69 of Aspers, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at Genesis Health – Gettysburg Center.
Born in Gettysburg, PA on April 5, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Virgil A. & Ethel B. (O’Brien) Leatherman.
Shirley had been employed for 32 years as an administrative assistant at Fort Detrick in Frederick, Maryland retiring in 2007. She had also worked at the Giant Food Store in Gettysburg for 12 years.
Shirley is survived by her husband, Fred A. Miller, two sons: Rick Smith and Chad Smith both of Eureka, CA, two step-daughters; Kathy Rupe of Martinsville, IN and Jennifer Horst of Wormleysburg, PA, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two brothers; Doug Leatherman and wife Sally of St. Mary’s, GA and Dwight Leatherman and wife Regina of Morgantown, WV and her dear friends, Shirley Harpster and Beulah Hartlaub.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg, PA. A viewing will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 4, and on Monday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private. The family suggests memorials to the Adams County SPCA, 11 Goldenville Road, Gettysburg, PA l7325.
