Shirley Mae Beard, 88, of Fairfield, PA passed away at her home on Wednesday, November 15, 2023. She was born in in Forks of Buffalo, VA to the late Mary (Tyree) Thompson Fulton and Junior Thompson on May 20, 1935. She was raised by her loving mother Mary and late stepfather Russell Fulton.
Shirley is predeceased by the love of her life George W. Beard. They were blessed with 52 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in 2013. Shirley and George were both members of Essex United Methodist Church in Essex, Maryland for over 20 years.
Shirley is survived by her children and their spouses: Janet Wood (Robert), Gary Beard (Kay), and Linda Prenger (Richard); her grandchildren: Brad, Lauri, Kiersten, Katie, Allison, Laura, Ryan and Danny; and her great-grandchildren: Logan, Jaxon, Addilyn, and Claire.
She is also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, James and Judy Thompson.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at 2pm at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens, 10201 Bird River Road, Baltimore, MD 21220.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Organization (lbda.org) in memory of Shirley.
