Obituary for Sylvia I. Dick
Sylvia I. Dick, 89, formerly of Biglerville, PA died Sunday evening, August 7, 2016 at the Village of Laurel Run, Fayetteville, PA.
Born September 11, 1926 in Gettysburg, PA she was the daughter of the late Ralph and Annie (Schuyler) Shultz. She was the wife of the late Harry Dick who died in 1977.
Mrs. Dick was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Biglerville, PA. She worked for many years as a meat clerk at Kennie’s Market. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her two children, Kay Baker, of Keansburg, NJ, Harry Dick and his wife Thelma, of Gettysburg, PA, three grandchildren, Earnest Baker, Jr., of Bealton, VA, Melissa Judowski and her husband Peter, of Keansburg, NJ, Tracy Peters and her husband Ethan, of Biglerville, PA, step-grandson, Ronald Bollinger, of Gettysburg, PA, great grandchildren, Bradley Baker, USMC based in Camp Pendleton, CA, Adam Peters, of Biglerville, PA, Daniel Peters, of Biglerville, PA, Luke Peters, of Biglerville, PA, sister, Marian Gastley, of Gettysburg, PA, and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, August 12, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin St., Biglerville, PA with Rev. Susan McCarthy officiating. Burial will be in Flohr’s Cemetery McKnightstown, PA. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Thursday, August 11, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA, as well as an hour before the services at the church.
