Obituary for Thomas G. Vaeth
Thomas G. Vaeth, 68, of Fairfield, PA entered God's eternal care on Thursday afternoon, January 3, 2019 at the Gettysburg Hospital.
Born January 18, 1950 in Baltimore, MD he was the son of the late Charles and Frances (Handlir) Vaeth. He was the husband of Jamie D. (Wheeler) Vaeth, of Fairfield, PA to whom he was married to for 26 years.
Mr. Vaeth was a devoted member of Memorial Baptist Church, Gettysburg where he served a deacon. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Thomas worked for a number of years for the United States government with the Social Security Administration. He enjoyed crabbing, fishing and gardening. Thomas loved and adored his grandchildren and enjoyed cooking meals for family gatherings. He loved the Lord and read and studied his bible daily.
In addition to his wife, Thomas is survived by his four children, Thomas Vaeth, Matthew Vaeth, Bryan Sautter, Timothy Sautter, 11 grandchildren, and his two brothers, Louis Vaeth and Francis Vaeth. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joann Conrad.
A Celebration of Tom's life will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday January 26, 2019 at the Memorial Baptist Church, 1095 Biglerville Rd., Gettysburg, PA with Rev. Adam Hedge officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until the time of the services at the church.
