
Obituary for Thomas Ray Bender
Thomas R. Bender, 76, originally of Sharpsburg, Maryland on Saturday morning, January 30, 2021 entered into his heavenly home.
Born November 26, 1944 he was the son of the late Jacob Edward Bender, Sr. and Minnie M. (Kidwiler) Bender. He was the husband of Launa V. (Moats) Bender to whom he was married for 50 years.
Mr. Bender was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked for the Department of the Army until his retirement in 2010. In his spare time he enjoyed model railroading, reading about Civil War History, and enjoyed wood working.
In addition to his wife Tom is survived by his son Nikolas Bender and his wife Michele, of Abington, Maryland his brother Jerry Bender and his wife Sybil, his sister Kathy Ramacciotti and her husband John, nieces Terrie Grim, Rebecca Sweigert and nephews Duane Bender, Eddie Bender, Randy Bender and Ryan Null. He was preceded in death by his sister Patty Null, sister-in-law Doris Bender and his brother Jake Bender.
