Obituary for Thresa M. Plank
Thresa M. Plank, 87, formerly of New Oxford, PA died Thursday morning January 19, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.
Born November 30, 1929 in Adams County, PA she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Blanche (Bowmaster) Baker. She was the wife of the late Dale J. Plank who died in 2002.
Mrs. Plank was a member of Mt. Cavalry United Methodist Church in Cashtown, PA. She worked at various restaurants in the area as a baker over the years. She baked a number of pies for the New Oxford Fire Company carnivals for a long time. She also enjoyed crocheting, and each member of her family received an afghan as a present from at one time.
Thresa is survived by her three daughters, Kay M. Peters, Cynthia S. Eyler and her husband Robert, Bonnie J. Plank, all of New Oxford, PA, daughter-in-law, Ann Plank, of Milton, PA, five grandchildren, one step-grandchild, six great grandchildren, three siblings, Galen Baker, of Biglerville, PA, Nancy Martin, of Adrian, MI, Maryanna Martin, of Gettysburg, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Rev. David D. Plank, and six siblings, Ethel Silik, Clyde Baker, Stanley Baker, Phyllis Bigham, Paul Baker, and Catherine Topper.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Wayne Galloway officiating. Burial will be in the Flohr’s Cemetery, McKnightstown, PA. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until the time of the service Tuesday afternoon at the funeral home.
