Obituary for Vesta Karen Staley
Vesta Karen Staley, age 73 of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Hanover Hospital.
Born March 31, 1944 in Johnson City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Dock & Velma (Whitehead) Simmons.
Vesta served as a high school secretary for the Hancock, West Virginia Board of Education for 30 years. She enjoyed the interaction with the students and staff and was loved by all. During her retirement, Vesta enjoyed the time she spent with her family and especially her grandchildren, traveling, gardening cooking and reading.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Michael A. Staley, daughter, Deanna Dawson and her husband Roger of Brunswick, MD, son, Dean Staley and his wife Esperanza of Weston, FL, granddaughter, Taylor Staley, two step-granddaughters; Nicole and Mia Apgar, brother, Doc Samuel Simms of Martinsburg, WV and great friend and niece, Ann White of Houston, Texas.
