Obituary for Victor Liwaj
Victor Liwaj, 93, of Fairfield, PA died Sunday evening, October 9, 2016 at Transitions Healthcare, Gettysburg, PA.
Born October 12, 1922 in Poland he was the son of the late Stephen and Maria (Ulanitska) Liwaj. He was the husband of the late Irene (Stukan) Liwaj who died in 2007.
Mr. Liwaj was a member of St. Andrew Ukranian Orthodox Cathedral, Silver Spring, MD. He worked as a real estate broker before working at Giant Food Store as a meat cutter. He was a member of the Gettysburg YMCA faithfully visiting there three days a week until he recently fell ill.
Victor is survived by his three sons, Victor Liwaj, Jr., of Freemont, OH, George Liwaj and his wife Cheryl, of Locust Grove, VA, Steven Liwaj, of Scottsdale, AZ, four step-children, Tynia Richardson and her husband Del, of Orrtanna, PA, Ray Trembow and his wife Donna, of Waynesboro, PA, Victoria Trembow, of Frederick, MD, Lora Trembow, of Centerville, MD, 12 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Gregory Richardson.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 125 Carlisle St., Gettysburg, PA with Fr. Volodymyr Steliac officiating. Burial following the services will be in the Fairfield Union Cemetery, Fairfield, PA.
