Obituary for Virginia M. Shanoltz
Virginia M. Shanoltz, 87, Gettysburg, PA died Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the York Hospital.
She was born March 31, 1930 in Port Republic, VA the daughter of the late Alfie and Ethel Rimel. Her husband Lindy L. Shanoltz died in 2007.
Mrs. Shanoltz was a member of St. James Lutheran Church, Gettysburg. She was a 1949 graduate of Littlestown High School. For many years she was employed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a secretary at the PA Historical Commission. She enjoyed gardening, her dogs and crocheting.
Virginia is survived by two sons; Henry Shanoltz of Gettysburg, PA, Eric Shanoltz and his wife Margaret of Gettysburg, PA, two grandchildren; Molly Shanoltz, Karl Shanoltz, two sisters; Hazel Weaver of Hanover, PA, Judy Bankert of Bloomsburg, PA, a brother, Donald Rimel of Hanover, PA. She was predeceased by a son, Karl L. Shanoltz in 1980, sisters; June Klunk, Phyllis Wagaman and a brother, Sunny Rimel.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens.
