Virginia R. Deal, age 85 of Gettysburg, PA died Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at SpiriTrust Lutheran – The Village at Gettysburg.
Born February 5, 1932 in Lehigh County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Elmer A. & Bertha M. (Berkenstock) Schaffer. Virginia was predeceased by her husband, Stanley W. Deal who died in 2003. Virginia is survived by her daughter, JoyceAnn Deal of Gettysburg, brother-in-law, Bruce BenKinney of Berwick, PA, a number of nieces and nephews and her two cats; George and Schwanz. She was predeceased by her sister, Arlene BenKinney.
A graveside funeral service and interment will be held at Chestnut Hill Church Cemetery in Coopersburg, PA on Monday, July 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, that memorials be sent to Forever Love Rescue, P. O. Box 3336, Gettysburg, PA 17325. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting the family with the funeral arrangements, online tributes and condolences can be made at monahanfuneralhome.com.
