Obituary for Wilbur Albert Rudisill, Jr.
Wilbur Albert Rudisill, Jr. 93, of Gettysburg, PA passed away at SpiriTrust Lutheran Gettysburg Center on Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
Born November 14, 1925 in Gettysburg, PA he was the son of the late Wilbur A. & Bessie (Aughenbaugh) Rudisill, Sr. Mr. Rudisill was predeceased by his wife, Jean Elizabeth (Harbaugh) Rudisill, who died February 20, 2018.
Mr. Rudisill was a veteran of World War II serving with the U.S. Navy. He had been employed by the Columbia Gas Co. for 27 years and after his retirement he worked part-time for Americana Gifts in Gettysburg for 20 years. Mr. Rudisill was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Gettysburg, VFW Post #15 and American Legion Post #202 both in Gettysburg and was a member of the former Elks Lodge #1045.
He is survived by his three children; Linda Teeter and her husband Sam of Gettysburg, David Rudisill and his wife Rose of Bel Air, MD and Sandra Ritchey of New Oxford, PA, three grandchildren; Carrie Teeter, Matt Teeter and his wife Kristin and Kate Dutrow and her husband Joe, five great grandchildren; Max, Alex, Aiden, Anden and Eddie, two brothers; James Rudisill and Fred Rudisill both of York, PA, a sister, Betty Plitt of Hanover, PA and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Rudisill was predeceased by six brothers; LeRoy, Eugene, Donald and Charles, Robert and Harold.
Funeral Services will be private. Burial with full military honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Gettysburg.
