William O. Sites, 94, of Fairfield, PA, passed away peacefully with his family by his bedside Wednesday evening, September 25, 2024.
He was born May 18, 1930, the son of the late Lawrence A. and Lelia M (Mickley) Sites of Fairfield, Pa.
He is survived by his children, Donna (Kenneth) McDannell Jr. of Orrtanna, Debra(Allen) Ozminski of Littlestown, William Chris (Judy) Sites of Orrtanna, Patricia Duke Williams of North Carolina, a sister, Ruth Jean Hammond of Chambersburg, PA, 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife Jane V. (Sease) Sites (2019) whom he wed December 23, 1949. Bill is also predeceased by sisters, Anna Heare of Fairfield, Louise McDannell of Fairfield, Lelia Mae Hemler of York, and Vonnie Barber Worchester of Massachusetts and a grandson, John Duke of South Carolina.
He was retired from Inland Container Corp. of Biglerville, Pa. and a member of the Adams County Fish and Game. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. Bluegrass music was his passion. He enjoyed telling his boyhood stories of life on Mt Hope Mt.with his late cousin, John Mickley and his uncles and grandfather, George O. Mickley. He loved his family and hearing the stories of their everyday lives.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2024, 11AM at the Good News Church, 1717 Carrolls Tract Rd, Orrtanna, PA 17353. A visitation will precede the service at the church beginning at 10AM. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.
