Obituary for Elizabeth V. Shealer
Elizabeth V. Shealer, 59 of Carlisle, PA, formerly of Gettysburg, PA, died suddenly at her home on Sunday, July 17, 2016.
Born September 10, 1956 in Budapest, Hungary, she was the daughter of the late Mihaly & Elizabeth (Kiess) Talpas. Elizabeth was predeceased by her husband Thomas Shealer who died in 1994.
Elizabeth had been employed by the former Herff-Jones Yearbook Co. in Gettysburg for 15 years. She enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and all of their activities.
Survivors include her daughter, Danielle Shealer of Carlisle, her son, Dominic Garretson, of Bellefonte, PA, two step-daughters; Leann Shealer Stewart of Carlisle and Tonia Shealer Washington of Harrisburg, PA, six grandchildren; Logan Thomas, Terence Hall, Brandon Hall, Laniya Stallworth, Arian Romaine and Desi Washington, a sister, Gabriella Talpas, a beloved niece, Ashley Dahnke and nephews, Anthony Newman and Kyle Davis. She was predeceased by her twin sister, Goldie Newman, two brothers, Nicholas and Stephen Talpas and a grandson, Christopher Stallworth.
Graveside funeral service and interment will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2016 at the Great Conewago Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 174 Red Bridge Road, Gettysburg, PA. The Monahan Funeral Home in Gettysburg is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials can be made to the funeral home to help defray Elizabeth’s funeral expenses.
