Obituary for Patricia O'Dea Polvinale
Patricia Bernice O’Dea Polvinale, 95 of Fairfield, PA passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born July 24, 1921 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Stephen Francis & Caroline (Kraus) O’Dea. Patricia was predeceased by her husband of thirty five years, Carl Albert Polvinale, Sr. who died in 1978.
Patricia grew up in Riverdale, MD and graduated from Riverdale High School. She married Carl on May 13, 1943. While Carl was serving in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II, Patricia worked for Caterpillar Tractor in Topeka, Kansas supporting the war effort. Patricia lived in Baltimore, MD for a number of years while her children were growing up, and moved to Fairfield, PA later residing with her son John Polvinale.
She is survived by her sister, Mildred Williams and eight children; Carl Albert, Jr, Timothy Patrick, Helen Marie, Carol Ann, Elizabeth Ann, John Stephen, Vincent Francis and Mary Angela, fifteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Patricia was predeceased by a son, Christopher Anthony, who died August 16, 2002.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 256 Tract Road, Fairfield, PA with Fr. Robert Malagesi, Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. A Viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at the Monahan Funeral Home, 27 East Main St., Fairfield, PA.
